Belgian Defence Days at Florennes AB
On 5 and 6 July 2008, Florennes Air Base, Belgium, was host to the 2008 edition of the Belgian Defence Days. The base is home of the 2nd Tactical Wing, operating the F-16 Fighting Falcon, but at that time was also home to the Tactical Leadership Programme (TLP), a joint training program formed by 10 NATO members. On 31 July 2009 the program moved to Albacete Air Base in Spain.
The crowds were treated to shows on the ground and in the air. The nice static show included F-5s from the Spanish Air Force and A-7s from the Greek Air Force. The flying display offered a lot of variety with fighters, trainer aircraft, choppers, warbirds and cargo/tanker aircraft. Three display teams were also present: the Breitling Jet Team, Patrouille de France and the Turkish Stars. In total 115.000 spectators found their way to Florennes Air Base during 5 and 6 July 2008.
