The very last airshow at BA-103 Cambrai

On 26 and 27 June 2010 BA-103 “René Mouchotte” Cambrai-Epinoy organized an airshow. It was the very last airshow on this historical French fighter base that was planned to end operations at the end of 2011. Although the end of the base was near, it was not the very last event to be held at BA-103, because in May 2011 the fighter community would be back for the Tiger Meet.

The Airshow
The airshow offered non-stop flying activity. The audience enjoyed no less than six demo teams, solo performances by modern aircraft and many historical aircraft during two sunny summers days. The demo teams present at Cambrai were Patrulla Aguilla from Spain, the Royal Jordanian Falcons, La Marche Verte from Maroc, the Turkish Stars, the UK Red Arrows (who did an early show to leave for the Battle of Britain memorial at RAF Biggin Hill afterwards) and -as usual the last performers of the day- were the Alpha Jets of Patrouille de France. Only two local based Mirage 2000s flew in the show and made a nice fly-by with a French C-160. Other highlights of the show were the performances of a Danish and Belgium F-16, a Slovak Mig-29, a French Rafale and a Hungarian JAS-39.
