TSTC Campus hosts the Heart of Texas airshow
On 18 and 19 March 2017, the Heart of Texas Airshow was held at Texas State Technical College Campus Airport in Waco. If you are used to large crowds that a regular airshow normally attracts, the Heart of Texas Air Show will be quite a relief. Compared to crowdie airshows and large waiting lines for parking, this show is really quiet, there is a lot of parking space and no large lines.
The airshow
The show is comprised of military aircraft, jets and war birds on the ground and -of course- up in the air. Highlight of the 2017 show was the flying display of the United States Air Force demonstration team, the Thunderbirds, with their F-16s. Other military aircraft participating were an F/A-18 from NAS Oceana, two A-10Cs from the Reserves at Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri, a KC-135 from Grissom AFB, Indiana, an MV-22 Osprey from MCAS Miramar and a C-130H Hercules from the Texas Air National Guard from the ‘neighboring’ Fort Worth.
Under sunny conditions, the crowds enjoyed the static display, the meet & greets with aircrews and the aerial demonstrations. Here is a selection of the shots we took at TSTC Campus Airport.
