A charity photocall at RAF Valley
On 14 August 2008, a photocall was held at RAF Valley. The RAF Valley charity photocall was an annual event organized by the Valley Aviation Society on the island of Anglesey in North Wales. The event aimed to raise money for RAF Valley station charities. A limited number of visitors could purchase an admission ticket, allowing them to walk around the airfield throughout the day and photograph the participating aircraft. There was not only a small static display, but also plenty of flying activity.

The 2008 photocall
This year’s photocall was held under perfect weather conditions. An excellent lineup of participants had been assembled. There was a great variety of RAF aircraft types, as well as a limited number of foreign visitors. Naturally, the Hawks stationed at RAF Valley were present in large numbers. Ten Hawks also took part in the flying display, with nine of them performing several formation fly-bys in formation. There was also a fly-by featuring four Tornado F3s, an E-3, and a VC-10.
The foreign visitors this time included a Belgian C-130, a Belgian F-16 performing a demonstration display, two Dutch F-16s from Volkel Air Base, and a French Alpha Jet.
